Ever wonder if you are actually getting

more mature in your spiritual walk?

Are you interested in Growing in community with others?

If so, Beverly Verhage’s study on individual spiritual growth and building Christian Community is for you. Consider doing it along side others and grow together.

Part 1,

Being Formed

In Part 1 of Grow Up, we ask “How do we grow up spiritually?”

Our spiritual growth is compared to the manufacturing of individual bricks from raw stones. This is a direct reference to 1st Peter 2:5. “You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood.” We discover how each component listed below helps us grow up in our Christianity.

1.                Spiritual Immaturity

2.                Prayer

3.                Believe / Faith / Trust

4.                Focus

5.                The Word

6.                Learn to Dress Ourselves

7.                Cooperate with the Holy Spirit

Part 2,

Brought Together

In Part 2, we answer the question, “How do we have community?”

We see how a shaped brick joins with other shaped bricks to build a brick wall, which is our community.

The foundation and the cornerstone are set, and each brick is held together with mortar. These bricks are the living stones of the church, and Jesus is the mortar, foundation, and cornerstone. We all become the brick wall that goes out into the world to bring the gospel message to all. As the wall and building form, we will see unity in our mature community that will be effective and draws others to Jesus.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good study

“What does it mean to live as a Christian?” “How do I grow in my relationship with Christ and others?” This book will help you find answers to these questions and other fundamental principles for living fulfilling, joyful life for God.

Beverly gives personal and practical examples, but she sends you to the Word to see what the Bible says in various places so that you can build your own Bible perspective.
I have been a Christian and active student of the Bible for decades, but this study has helped expose areas of pride and hidden sin I was completely unaware of. I am thankful for my deepened unity and maturity this study has provided.

Good as an individual study, but even better in a group or with a mentee.
